Born in Koper, Slovenia, she demonstrated artistic talent from childhood. At the age of nine, her mother enrolled her in a classical ballet school, which she attended for eleven years. Meanwhile, she developed a desire to see her own vision take shape as visual art. Having always held Venice close to her heart, she started at the city's Academy of Fine Arts ( Accademia di Belle Arti )  after finishing high school to pursue her dream though her studies were interrupted after a year due to financial constraints.
